Help ! problem with internet through lan
Hi i have both xp and 98 installed in my comp. I have an internet connection thro lan.In XP, I have good speed while browsing but i am not able to download anything though..not even a 100kb file. I have a via rhine II ethernet adapter. While i download using a download manager the first segment alone does not download while all other segments get downloaded fully but first segment does not start. In win 98 as soon as it gets connected it restarts. Please help me...

Exactly what is the lan cable connected to? If it's a router, restart the router.

No..all other computers are fine...only my comp has this problem..Thanx for your interest...please help me out in this...

Next step is ask the system administrator to reboot the switch, and try a different patch cable.
