Kooky DSL Connection
Suddenly this pm Win XP wouldn't connect with DSL but Win98 on same PC would. Bye and bye, Win 98 wouldn't connect either. Modem showed sync. Did the winipcfg on Win98 to release adapters and couldn't figure how to do the same on XP besides doing a flush/dns. Neither worked. I could access the router okay but no surfing. DSL support could ping my modem. Shut everything down and drank a 6-pack and now working. What in Hades could that have been?

Those commands are issued at a command prompt. Open one and type ipconfig/? to get a list of all ipconfig commands.

Thanks old friend. Never had to troubleshoot on XP much. Still don't know what the problem was but I scattered-shot and must have done something.
