Unreal Gold +LAN +Voice Chat

Greetings all:

I finally have two computers networked and working, my wife and I are plying Unreal Gold together on em and all is good except for being able to communicate vocally on our headsets.

We can hear all the sounds of the game but we have to stop and type messages to each other. Is there anything special I need to do to enable voice chat on a network?

Like I said, this is unreal gold and i dont even know for sure if that version supports voice chat but i found a check box in the game's preferences that says 'if checked you will hear voice commands from other players' so i assume it does but we cannot get it to work...

Any ideas??? Anyone??? How about a tech support number for the game (had it a long time and lost documentation if it had any)?

Edit: Is there any other way to test the voice over ip chat with xp pro without having to install another application? To determine if its the game's problem or the network?
