my friend has a wireless b Linksys router. he has a desktop(wired) and a laptop (wirelessly) connected to it. his xbox is in another room and the only possible solution we found (besides running wires) was this:

Don't have an xbox, but don't they have a USB port? Not sure if a USB nic would work or not, due to drivers, etc. If not, you're stuck with the $80 card from m$, I'd say.
