Remote Access
Hi
There is a very good remote access solution called RemotePC (http://www.ibackup.com/remote_access/) It has direct desktop access, as well as file transfer and may other things. It works very efficiently from dialup connections to LAN setups. They have a free trial version, so you can test it and then buy it if it suits your needs. Its very secure and easy to use. Looks like a competitor to GoToMyPC to me.
GoToMyPC does not require viewer software like this one - you use your browser. This is better in my opinion, because you can access your host from any computer that's connected to the Internet with no software installation or licensing considerations. These "services" are more secure than VNC, and easier to use - you don't have to worry about knowing your host's IP address or opening/forwarding ports in firewalls/routers. You do not "buy" these - they are services with a monthly fee. Last edited by glc; 11-25-2004 at 10:51 AM. |
