linksys wireless router and westell modem problem
Hello, I just receintly changed isp's from earthlink dsl to verison dsl. On the earthlink configuration, my linksys (wrt54g) router was connected to a fujitsu modem and all was well. Now after switching isp's, the westell 327w modem (which has a wireless router built in) and my linksys router are not communicating with each other. I have no clue on how to get all of this going again. I tried resetting the linksys back to factory settings and reloading the software, but I keep geting an error stating that either the internet connection is lost or the router is not connected. Please note that if I just connect thru the modem (westell) I can log on the internet. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance.

you cannot use two routers, you must remove the linksys router and use the one in the modem, or get a modem without a built-in router and use the linksys, you cannot use both. it won't work

Thanks baily, that's a drag. I guess I will try to use the westell with the built-in wireless router. Or maybe I can return the modem to verizon and request the modem without the wireless. Which would you prefer, the linksys or the westell combo?

If the Westell has wireless-G and is multiple computer capable (and easily administered), just use that. Otherwise, swap it off for a simple bridge modem or see if the Westell can be switched to bridge mode and its wireless disabled - then you can connect it to the Linksys.

Thanks for the replies. I called Verizon and was able to access the router setup page. The Linksys is out of the network and the westell in and functioning correctly. Guess I'll save the Linksys for a rainy day. Thanks again for the help. Merry Christmas.......
