hello im a pc noob sort of lols and i have a problem ;o(

ok this is a long story gonna try to be as detailed as possible:

2 nights ago i was downloadin a psx rom game and a movie,the file size was big forgot how much big it was,well the movie was in avi format so i decided to download real player software in order to view the movie.i use a client called dcc,its not kazza or bearshare or like many others,ah well back to my problem.

well on of the movies showed informin on the player screen it was 1 hour and 38 minutes,the odd thin that the movie only lasted for like 6 minutes.

my software that i have on my pc is called freedom by adelphia cable enterprises,it has a firewall and antivirus software,privacy software and spyware software i believe pest patrol is under contract for adelphia company.

so my spyware detected like 2 viruses one of them was red v the other one i forgot,well it scanned my pc and deleted em all but just to make sure i went to this website webroot.com and i tried the spyaudit mode to my surprise i had this appliction instALLED ON MY PC VIEWLOG,it said it has the ability to see what im doin on my pc from any aplication,also steals my personal information and records my messenger conversations.well webroot claims if webroot"s spysweeper is installed on my pc it will get rid off the problem,so idecided to install the software to see if i was able to get rid off it ,to my surprise it didnt find it,i tried norton too nothin.tried avg nothin found it,tried adaware spybot my list is big so on and on,i also heard there are so called jokesoftware that hacker install on pc lettin the user think that it has a malicious software installed.is it true?

i also bloked the real player program with my firewall and the firewall that comes with the windows xp its protectin my pc,the funny thins the real player still showed on the screen it ws tryin to comunnicate with the internet even though it was blocked what the hell? how could this be possible?

whats does the hijack this sofware do to my pc ?does it find hidden installed applications and removes em?

i dont know what to do i was chattin on the main chatroom from one of those dcc hubs and the mouse was movin by itself and the space bar just kept on goin left to rite,i also went to download ,con to llok for another firewall and while i was tryin to read the details on a certain firewall .the screen was scrollin down by itself it just kepn on scrollin down i just had to close the page ;o(

please help me! i have tried all and nothin works i was thinkin of formattin my pc again and all i know *cause i have formatted my pc several times ,i know all the paths on dos mode exactly as my uncle showed me,

i know while insertin the windows xp disc inside the hardrive i just press enter and starts takin me to the formatin application mode,well the funnhy thing i tried that but it just didnt load the disc!

can anyone tell me which pc bios i have to put in order for my windows cd to load an run? is it

is it for the primary bootdisk hddo? or cd drive mode i know there are 3 bios for the pc

Ok, Eddiegunner, first of all welcome to PCMechanic.

Not sure I can help you with all your problems, but will suggest what I can to help and I'm sure others here on the forum will be able to offer good help too. So, just be patient with us.

1st of all, Realplayer seems to come with a lot of other programs and stuff that it installs on your hard drive, so I try to avoid realplayer if I can. The best player for me is Windows Media Player and it will play just about any format. It comes with the OS and the latest version is 10. You have it on your computer just make sure it is up to date.

As for getting rid of some of the stuff that realplayer has put on your computer, I know you have to search the directories to get rid of everything. Simply going to add or remove hardware in control panel does not delete everything.

If you have not had your OS installed for very long and don't have a lot of information you need to save, I would suggest: go ahead and reinstall the OS again and start from scratch. Afterwards just stay away from realplayer and us windows media player.

Now, if you do have a lot of info installed on your present OS then keep it and wait for some other responses on here and see if they can offer some suggestions on how to get rid of the unwanted files on your computer.

I'd first get your Firewall on its highest security and make sure its up to date, and even make sure XP's firewall is enabled. Run the usual crew of apps: Spybot, SpywareBlaster, Adaware SE, Spysweeper, AVG, and A2. Run windows update and wish for the best
