passord trouble
OK, I now know that I am getting older, for I do not remember things I did only a short time ago.
@ PC's, netwoked with a DLink router (604), DSL modem. #1pc (new) can see and share files with PC #2. All;s fine. #2pc can see #1, but is asking for a PW. I have no PW's set on #1pc. Have Admin rghts. Ran the wizard and that is when everything went wacky. Help is always appreciated. |

Is this a new network setup, or one that was working until recently? What is the exact message it gives you, and what do you do to get that message?

What exact OS on each computer? If XP Pro, are you using simple file sharing?

Sounds kind of like problem I had when adding my laptop to my network. I forgot to set anything on the laptop to be shared. The other computers saw that the computer was there. When I double clicked on the computer it asked for a password. I set a folder on the laptop to be shared and it quit asking for the password. It though I made a stupid mistake but i guess it could happen to anyone.
