Should I Get a Router with a Firewall

Ad-Aware and Spybot have picked up about as much spyware and adware on my new pc that has been online for 3 days as my other that has been online for over a year. My new pc already has the windows firewall and the Nvidia firewall on my motherboard (Asus A8n Sli Deluxe) but my older one is behind a router with a fire wall. My new pc recently crashed and forced me to boot into safe mode, in which I removed about about 80 instances of spyware even though I had scanned the system the day before and removed over 100. I do just about the same thing with both computers and visit the same websites yet I have never had this problem with my other pc behind the router firewall. Would it be a good idea to purchase another router with a firewall for my new pc?

Can't you just plug both computers into the router? Most routers have 4 plugs on the back, and I believe you can add a switch to increase that number. This will allow both computers to access the internet. Instead of buying a second router you could replace the windows firewall with a more secure software firewall, such as Zonealarm (preferably version 4.5) or Sygate etc.

With the way I have everything setup I cannot do that because it would cause problems with my xbox's.

Cool

How are you accessing the net with new PC? What is current router connected to?

My new computer is now behind a router and I am having no more problems, which I think were the result of my sound card, which is now fixed. I still pick up about fifteen instances of spyware when I scan with spybot, but I guess I will just have to deal with it.
