Problem with Networking

Well I recently moved my router onto a different computer in the house so I could connect my Xbox via Ethernet. I put a wireless network card on the computer the router used to be on so it could connect also. Everything was working for a couple days and just yesterday the problems starting rolling in. The network card would just randomly disconnect to the router it was on and try to connect to something completely different which didn't even work. Now that I removed whatever that was from my preferred networks, all it does now is disconnect and not try to connect to anything else. I reconnect it and then within 5 minutes it disconnects itself again and gives me a message like "One or more wireless networks are available." How can I get it to stop trying to connect to other networks and stay on the one I connect it to?
BTW, the internet and everything will work for about 5 minutes (which is how im posting this) and then suddenly disconnect and give me that same message. What's going on? How can I stop it from doing this?

Try resetting the router, try the defaults and then start changing things.

Is the router DHCP?

On my Linksys I have settings that say Connection Time, Keep Alive Period, and Client Lease, maybe one of those is giving your client PC an IP address but when it comes time to give it another one the connection fails, maybe. If you don't have a Linksys, maybe someone will come by with the above properties translations for your router, but they should be similar.

OK somehow (no one knows how, not even he does), my brother fixed the problem. He just messed around with settings and now everything works again. Thanks anyway

Now for my other problem http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=120146
