Sharing file and folders over wireless LAN
I am sharing a broadband connection between two computers using a Wireless Router (NetGear). Can I also share folders and files between the two computers like a LAN? If so, how do I set that up in Win XP Home SP1? I've gone to My Network Places, but I can't see the other computer, even though they both have internet access. Thanks for any info.

You should be able to network the two computers. Have you created a network connection for each computer. Also they must have the same workgroup name. Once you set up the network you must enable sharing of the folders that you want to be accessed by each computer. Here is some material on setting up a home network:

In addition to not being able to share between the two computers, the internet connection on the other computer (the one connected wirelessly) is very unstable. It's connection speed varies from 1 or 2 Mb/s to 54 Mb/s or no connection at all. It fluctuates wildly from minute to minute. The Wireless computer is in the next room, just 15 or 20 feet away and the wireless NIC is a NetGear, just like the router.I've gone into the config programs for both the NIC and the Router, and everything seem to be OK. I can't figure out what the problem is!?

Do you have 2.4 GHz cordless phones? They interfere with 802.11b/g wireless big time, as do microwave ovens.

I figured it out! I feel so stupid. The other computer had never been on the internet before, so I just ran Windows Update and downloaded all of the hotfixes and Viola! A nice stable connection! Thanks to those who replied and tried to help me out.
