Outlook problems on network

Hi All,

Hope I'm posting this in the right section, but I need some help with what I think is an Outlook network problem.

A couple of machines in my office running Outlook 2003 will only see their sent items folder (and drafts) intermitently. Our Outlook files are kept on a server so I think it might be something to do with the network, especially as this happened (s) at the same time on both machines.

I always thought a network was either on or off but is it possible that network problems could cause this in just some areas of Outlook (ie, they can always see their recieved items).

Hope it's not too cheeky asking a work question here. We're only a small company and have nobody for IT and it's more of a nuiscance than aything.

Still if anybody has any thoughts or has encountered the problem before a reply would be much appreciated...

Don't know ifthis will help but...

When I set up a small home network We were having intermittant problems with Outlook express. The issue turned out to be the firewall (ZoneAlarm). When I set it to trust the outlook server the problems went away.
