IE Safer than Firefox - at least in one way
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6930868/
Interesting read - it appears that IE has one up on some other browsers- at least for now. So the question is - how do I de-activate the other character sets in Firefox?

That is just a spoof exploit. They make big news because it is (so far) one of the only ways to exploit the gecko engine. It's not a big deal, it's been done for years with all browser's this is just a new way to do it. You don't need to remove the sets, just don't put you credit card number in a box you were led to by a link in your email or a seperate page.
I.E....if you are reading your email from paypal, and you need to go to paypal, don't use the link. Everyone should be doing this anyway regardless of browser. There isn't a browser bar or email address in the world that can't be spoofed (visit usenet sometime...lol). Granted this is a little more advanced, but still common stuff. |
