Problems with Wireless Netgear

My mom being the computer genius she is in an attempt to keep me from gaming took the power cord from our dsl modem to work with her one day. When she came home she couldn't connect, even after power cycling. So I figured out that the link speed and duplex setting had changed to a default that wasn't working with our modem (Actiontec Wireless ready DSL gateway). So I changed it to 10Mbps/Half Duplex, like the tech support guy from my ISP said to and she could connect. But now I can't get my wireless router (Netgear WGR614 v4) to detect an internet connection. I have my own computer that I built that connects through a Netgear WG311 PCI wireless card. I'm rather new to networking and wireless. I don't want to call the toll free help line because last time I tried using it the poor service, and how hard it was to understand them really made me mad. So if anyone might know what is wrong and how I could fix it, your input would be greatly apprechiated.

Thanks.

Ive gone through the setup, Ive entered in all my IPs and DNS's and so on but it just wont connect. I just dont know what else to try. Oh and my pci card connects to the network that the router creates, but the router wont connect to my modem. Getting really frustrating as my WoW account wastes time cuz my wireless crapped out.

Try surfing into your router and have your DHCP server enabled and set your computer to automatically obtain an IP address. Also make sure that your DNS service is activated.

Alright I have it set to auto obtain IP adresses. I have DHCP and DNS servers are on (there are 2 DNS). Also should I have my router obtain IP adresses from PPPoE (like I had it) or through DCHP? And if i do have IPs obtained through DCHP it asks me if i want Bridged or Routed encapsulation?

Unfortunately my knowledge for wireless connections is extremely limited, but as a guess, I'd have the router obtain IP addresses from PPPoE, if that doesn't work, try it with DHCP. I don't know about the bridged or routed encapsulation thing. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can help you out with this one.
