Wireless Probs, Hopeful Solution

I heard about something called a Wireless Extension or something along those lines that caused a wireless area to cross itself or something. Was hoping if this would be an option to boost me signal strength any, and if anyone knew where to buy one or a better explanation I would appreciate it.

Give us the details of your wireless network and the issues you are having, please.

Well, the router is on the other side of my house, which is seperated by about 6 walls, a kitchen, and another computer connected to the network.

I Have a Dlink-624 wireless router and I use a DWL-G510 PCI card, and the best signal I have ever gotten is very low, sometimes to no signal at all.

I was hoping that a repeater coulds strengthen the signal to help with slowdowns and give me better download speeds, less lag in games, etc.

Another problem I have been having recently is a program called prutsct.exe, I am pretty sure it has something to do with my computers wireless connection but when the box comes up to send an error report or not, no matter what I click on after about 4 seconds it comes back. Won't seem to stop and I've tried reinstalling drivers from the CD and turning off the connection from my computer from the administrative services, wireless zero config I believe.

Just wondering what you guys think about all this.

Google and yahoo searches turn up nothing for "prutsct.exe" I'd be highly suspect of that. Have you tried running some malware/virus scans to see if anything is amiss?

As for your original question, a repeater would help. Also slightly repositioning the router, or antenna may help, or you could look into getting a high-gain and/or directional antenna.
