Trying to set up an Active Directory, win 2000

Ok I am a senior in my high school computer shop.. For a senior project I have tried to show networks and more. I am trying to set up a Active Directory server with 2 client computers connected to it.

I am using a basic 4 port hub and there will be no internet connection.

The server is running Windows 2000 Server edition
Client one is Running N.T. 4.0 WS
Client two is running Windows 98

Right now All I have is the TCP/IP is all set up with the Ip and subnet mask.
The domain I created isn't recognized by either of the client computers and I have just now installed the Directory client on both of the computers I want to connect. The windows 98 now looks for a Domain And I have set up a domain. Or I think I have... It looks for it says there is no Domain avalible. The DHCP is what I was starting to set up. I am just in need of help as to why no computers will connect to my server.. Please help I dont know If I will be able to check this forum soon so send help to my email. MeflakCannon@gmail.com

Please and thanks

Edit:
First thing i did was ask teacher for help and she was like *** are you talking abought? I have never heard of this.

I feel so helpless..

First, is active directory installed on the server? you can run dcpromo
from the command prompt, if it isnt installed, it will walk you through the process. If it is installed, it will ask you to uninstall which you can then just cancel out of the wizard. Also DNS must be setup and functioning on the server. On the client side, it would be much easier if you could get a couple of win2000 pro or xp machines as clients. if not you will need to setup a wins server as well on the win 2000 server.
