Linksys 802.11G WAP..wireless found but not internet
Linksys WAP 802.11G
Two computers both with identical hardware with Linksys USB wireless adapters One PC connects to the WAP and is able to access the internet. The second one has the following message in the linksys wireless monitor: connection to access point but not internet. I switched out the USB adapters, checked all settings, reinstalled the USB adapter software, tried a different WAP with no success. A laptop i tested with a Dell wireless PCMCIA card was also able to access the internet. The only thing i can think of is that Windows is blocking something. I did turn off software firewall and AV. Anybody experience this problem? Thanks in advance. |

Open a command prompt and type IPCONFIG/ALL - and post what it says (you can copy/paste) under the wireless adapter. Do this on the one that works too so we can compare. This assumes WinXP or 2K - if it's Win98/ME, type WINIPCFG in the Run box, hit More Info, and select the wireless adapter - and take screen shots, post them as attachments.

Sorry to so long to reply. I was not out at that location to get back to you. The person ended up bringing the PC to me and i tested internally with same wireless router. Ended up getting the PC to access internet via wireless following the installation of SP2.
