Verizon DSL network Woes
My friend is using the Westell 2200 DSL modem. They purchased a linksys router, and they has issues connecting to the internet through the router.
They spent hours on the phone with both verizon and linksys trying to get the router to operate as a gateway, but it would never recognizes the internet when it scans for it in the setup process. Modem or the linksys router? The modem works fine connected directly to the PC, but I tried multiple times and different ways to get it to work, including the order of reseting. The modem sounds wacky tabaki. (The linksys router is the etherFast cable/DSL router Model: BEFSR41) Any suggestions? |

What are the settings on the router? I actually just set somebody up with Verizon DSL on Friday, and it took me the longest time to figure out that the Westell modem handles PPPoE and that the router should be set to get an IP through DHCP from the modem.
Also, if the modem works fine on the PC, then it's safe to say that the modem is not at fault here.
