Computer: W98, AMD K6II450, 184mb ram, purchased in '99
Does anyone know if connecting a Cable modem to the computer with an Ethernet card vs USB will make a difference in internet surfing speeds? The computer has open slots for a network card but right now the modem is connected via USB and my surfing speeds are low. |

yes, USB has a lot more overhead as compared to ethernet and that can have an impact on your overall speed.
