hijackthis log file: Dr Watson Problem
Hello all,
first post but definately not the last. Nice to find a Forum so chock full of experts. I thought I was pretty good at problem solving but over the last week a friend of mine has a problem with his PC which is DR Watson Post mortem related. He can't right click on anything and this includes when in safe mode. The operating system is XP SP2 and was installed clean a week ago. The PC worked perfect for the first week and then started crashing when ever he right hand clicks on almost any file, but especially video files. The pc then crashes with ''Dr Watson Post Mortem'' on screen. If he CRTL/ALT /DELETE and then shuts down the drwatson process (forget name) everything runs again until he try's to right click again. I have run Hijack this and used the Online checker but it hasn't recognised any nastys. Could someone please look at the attached log file and see if there's any nasty's it's missing. Thanks in advance. Have a look at this thread. Follow the instructions in it and then post a follow-up HJT log.

Not exactly the same. You have a Nail.exe infection.
http://www.mypctuneup.com/ This is controversial - but it got rid of Nail on a machine I was working on a couple weeks ago. You need to throw some more scanners at it, and please read the sticky thread before posting another log. |
