Internet problem
I have a question on internet service, sometimes I have experienced that the internet service that I use doesnot work inspite of geting response from ping command and the light of LAN card is turned on.
What is the real purpose for pinging the server from our computer ? Also what does the light on the LAN card really show? Waiting for reply |

The ping command is mainly used to verify a connection between Point A and Point B. It also gives times in ms which can be used to see if it is running slow.
The Light on the Lan cards normally shows connection and traffic.
