Good info
I've been working on removing some spyware/adware on a computer. The hardest one to get rid of was one called webtracer that created a couple of things that were a bit difficult to get rid of. Spybot and MS Anti-spyware removed most but were having problems with a couple. Hijackthis also was having a bit of a problem.
The difficult ones to remove were: R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = hzzp://rl.webtracer.cc/-/?bayzm O19 - User stylesheet: C:\WINDOWS\stsheets.dat Some pretty good info here on getting rid of them. The only addition to that was that I had to remove all of the attributes with the attrib command: attrib -H -S -R -A stsheets.dat , before I could remove it. The registry keys could not be deleted because they were read only. So I modified the permissions and was able to remove it. Just an FYI to help anyone else with the same problem.
