greedo "Page cannot be display"

Hello,
We have Windows XP. We were infected with the bloodhound and backdoor. The web page shows the message “The page can not be display” after only 3 minutes. The connection via broadband is active still although very slow. Tried to repair IE, after which seemed to go faster, then went back to it own slow rutine. If disconnected and renew connection, we are able to access which ever page tried to access. Could you help?
Thank you

You will definately want to make sure that there are no other viruses on your computer, maybe run a few virus scans from different scanners. Here is a free online scanner http://housecall.trendmicro.com.

You will also want to do some spyware/adware scans, because that could be the problem also.

You can always clear your cookies, cache, and history.

Try these couple commands:

Click on Start, and thne Run, and type: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
then again,
Click on Start, and then Run, and type: ipconfig /flushdns

Hopefully this helps you out.

Regards,

Justin

greedo shocked!!!!!!!!

Hello and thank you for your prompt response.
1-I have used the link you suggested and found the non cleanable virus: WORM_RANDER.BNWORM_RBOT.BHK; TROJ LOWZONES.CG; TSPYISTBAR.D; EXPL IFRAMEBO.A;TROJ DLOADER.FN; TROJ LOADER.C; BKDR SDBOT.GAA; BKDR RBOT.S; WORM RANDEX.BN; WORM RANDEX.BN; TROJ DLOADER.JD; REG LOWZONES.D; REG LOWZONES.B; TROJ LOWZONES.CG; TROJ DELF.KE.
…And a total of 22 files infected.
I tried the run suggestions, and only got an empty the black window.

I got a number of unsolicited adult gambling, and games premium pages which I have restricted as I have a 4 year old son who uses the net. How did they get into my computer?
Can I find out were they came from?
Could you know what can I do next?
Will reinstalling windows XP sort the problem?

2-Is it ok if the Talktalk broadband appears in the dial-up connections?

3-The internet icon at the bottom right hand side of the screen appears active but when I tried to change the password at PCmechanic I got a message reading the connection was not established.

Please forgive the lengthy mail.

Thank you very much.

Run Housecall again, this time using safe mode with networking. Make sure you DELETE all the uncleanable files when the scan is done. Then install a proper antivirus program such as AVG Free, and install antispyware programs such as Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Microsoft Antispyware - and start scanning and cleaning.
