Router disconnecting/rebooting problem

All was fine, until sometime recently my router decides to throw a tantrum every few hours, disconnecting all users that were connected to it (either via ethernet cable or wirelessly) and the 'net, then goes right back to normal. I'm not quite sure if it's rebooting (cos the router is in a different room and I haven't seen the router as it happened.

The router in question is a Netgear WGT624v2, all user-machines are running win xp.

Router settings seem to be fine, so I kinda ran out of ideas. Bad router?

Could be the router, since all users lose connection to the router.

I would check to see if there is an updated firmware for that router and give it a try.

I updated the firmware as suggested to the latest one, V4.2.6_1.0.1, and unexpectedly now it disconnects every few minutes.

Well I just got it replaced today from netgear. It seemed fine for a while (a few hours) then it started acting up again. Am i just unlucky enough to get another bad router, or is it my settings?
