Bellsouth Westell (Modem/Router) and WRT54G alternative
I currently have a wireless network setup and working using a Linksys WRT54G, Westell DSL modem and Linksys WAP11 2.2 . The Westell is plugged into the WRT54G in PPOE bridged mode. The WAP 11 is in access point client mode and providing wireless connection to the WRT54G for a second computer.
I don't know the model number of the westel but it does say "router" on it. I have another WAP11 2.2 so I am wondering if I could ditch the WRT54G since the westel is a router. Hook the Westell and one WAP11 2.2 to a hub and then use the other WAP11 2.2 on the other computer and put both WAPs in bridged mode. Does anyone know if this will work? I know the bridging will work but will the first computer need to be on at all times for the second computer to have internet access or will the westell take care of that?
Thanks
