Wireless USB Access Point for a Device?
Lets say I had a USB scanner. Could I plug a wireless USB network interface thing into the scanner (assuming it would fit and all) and then have that go to my router, then from the router to my computer? What I want to do is have it set up so I could use the scanner in a room where the computer isn't. From what I read, USB can't go wireless without using Cat5. I found some wireless USB transmitters and recievers that use Cat5, but the boxes are too big. I need something small, at least the transmitter has to be small. The reciever thing can be as big as it needs to be.

No. The only way to network a scanner is if it's network capable. Low priced consumer grade scanners are not network capable. Those that are generally require that they be installed locally on a computer, and when you install the software on the other computers you can scan remotely. The exceptions are higher end "all in one" devices that can work through a wired or wireless print server.

I'm not just talking about scanners. I need to a usb port available that's wireless. I seen the USB Ranger that can do it, but it's a little bigger than what I wanted. Where I need the devices, there isn't a computer nor can there be a computer. Is there some kind of usb to serial adapter and then an RF transmitter to a reciever plugged in the computer?

Maybe you need to tell us exactly what you are trying to do.

I want to use USB devices that aren't connected to a computer with a cable.

The only ones that I know of that will work are printers and networkable all-in-one devices, you would use a USB print server, available both wired and wireless.
