Switch from wireless connection between two computers to a wired crossover conection
Hi guys, I have my laptop XP and desktop Win2000 on a wireless network, but I want to temporarily connect my laptop to the desktop with a simple crossover cable.
But how do I get these to connect direct via their ethernet cards across the crossover cable, when all I see is my wireless connection between the two. I want to connect to it directly via the ethernet and crossover cable as the wireless connection is too slow for large transfers. Plus I get frequent drops with my wireless connection but that's another story. |

Assumimg both PC's have wired ethernet ports, you get a crossover cable and connect them..

Is your wireless network using just an AP or is there Ethernet ports? Allot of wireless AP/Routers have switched fastethernet built in. If this is the case all you need do is disable the wireless connection and plug into an available ethernet port into the NIC of your laptop.
