need router advice

i need to get a new router that can reach about 100 feet, i have one now and i aliterally 10 feet too short from the base... can someone give me a suggestion on a new router that will reach?
i have read about using repeaters and what not to boost the signal but i don't think i want to do that...

when i went to CC the guy said that i had to get the router that was $150 bucks... i didn't know if that was valid advice... the routter is on the ground floor in my office ( a seperate building) and and my other computer is on the third floor in my house. so it is is going through a few walls thanks for your help

are you looking for just a wired router, or are you referring to a wireless router?

This one that glc reviewed is probably the same one the guy at CC recommended. It will probably do the job. Here's the Newegg link. $150

i read in one of my pc mags (pcmag/computer shopper) that the linksys router SRX didnt perform well, and they recommended a different one, ill have to post back the router they recommended when i get home tonight from work. if i remember correctly they state that the linksys srx has some problems with good signal strength at long ranges.

there was one model of linksys router that did have a problem as you discribed, but I have replaced all the one I had with the newer g series and all the problems went away, all of them (5) are working great, and I couldn't be happier.

i tried that with the wrt54g and upgraded the antennas, and i saw no improvement in my signal strengh, it actually seemed to cause more problems, my wireless signal kept dropping all the time with the hi gain antennas. i tried different channels, different levels of encryption and still had that problem, i removed the high gain antennas and put the original antennas back on and everything was ok again.
