Is a router a firewall ????

Someone is pinging my computer through my D-Link router.

Zone alarm is alerting me of a ping. I thought a router was a hardware firewall.

I have a cable modem that hooks to a D- Link di-624 and hard wired to my computer.

Most of those routers have a built in firewall but you must not have yours enabled...

Go to the Tools > Misc. menu and select ENABLE to "Disable PING from WAN side".
