netgear WG311 & SVCHOST Problem

I have a new Dell XPS, pentium 4 cpu 3.00Ghz running Win xp pro service pack 2.

To access the Internet/LAN i use a netgear wireless network, with a WG311 v1 adapter installed on to the computer

With a DM 602 modem and a MR814 v2 router which run very well.

PROBLEM: Every time a put the drivers on the wireless works fine.
When ever I restart the computer it then runs very slowly as the SVCHOST NETWORK runs the system down .

I have down loaded all up dates from Netgear HELP

Have you scanned for viruses, trojans, and spyware?
