Finding website whose IP address changes..
I run a web application on a server in my house. Access to it is through an IP address, rather than a URL.
This application will accept a connection from a handheld device for synching data from the field. The problem I have is that my service provider changes my IP address from time to time to discourage users, like myself, from running a website on their network. The handheld devices have software coded in to look for this specific IP address to connect and sync. But, when the IP changes, the handhelds are dead in the water and need a new version of the app loaded with the new IP address. Is there any product out there that I can run on the server that might compensate for these IP address changes? Thanks a bunch. |

Thanks again. I did find a service called TZO dynamic DNS service that is free for 30 days, $25/yr fee after. Setup is a snap, even for a moron like me.
