Home Networking Question
I just created a new build and I wanted some files from my old computer onto my new computer. I don't have an external harddrive but I do have a patch/crossover cable just sitting around. I know that you can use this to share and connect to eachother computers but would someone explain how I would go about setting this up using probably the network wizard. just can't figure it out.

Might consider yanking the old drive out and slaving it to the new system.

If you add the old pc to your new one's network you can map the old drive and share it I believe. Someone jump in there pls if i jacked that up.

Unless you plan to run the network for longer than just the file retrieval time, I'ld do as Stvy suggests and slave the hard drive temporarily. Or you can use a usb drive and move the files easily that way too.
