2 laptops works 1 doesnt
Ok, so I have 3 laptops in the house currently, and 2 wireless routers. A D-Link and a Linksys.
So here is my problem, ALL the laptops work with the Linksys, but one of the laptops DOES NOT work with the D-Link. It shows the signal strength as one bar, while the other 2 laptops show it as full strength. This is right next to the router. I right clicked on the network icon on the bottom right of windows, then went into "change advanced settings" and I set every setting identicle to the one that worked. That didn't work. To be more specific when I click on the network from the D-Link and hit connect, it says "Please wait while windows connects to the _____ network" and underneath that it says "Waiting for the network". Then after about 30 seconds it just doesnt connect and then connects to the linksys network. And btw this laptop that doesnt work is the "satellite" model, and one of the other laptops that DOES work is also a "satellite" model. So any ideas? I need this fixed by today because I am going out of town tomorrow. Thanks for any responses. |

Sounds like the problem is with the D-Link. Have you tried rebooting it?

Make sure the security settings (encryption) are compatible and I'd run the routers on different channels.

I already tried changing the channels, I did 1, 6, and 11, and there was no difference. And I am running no encryption untill I get it fixed still so that is not an issue.
