Using 2 NIC's on 1 comp to give internet access to 2nd comps

Basically what I want to do is have 2 NIC's on one computer, and get a crossover cable and give acess to the internet to a 2nd computer, by using the 1st. Not really sure what to do though.

I installed a second NIC on my comp and installed the drivers but for some reason whenever I go to make a network(bridge the 2 NIC's or use ICS) it says that my new(2nd) NIC card is disconnected and the network cable is unplugged. However the card is installed properly, is brand new, and has a crossover cable attached to it with the other side leading to an NIC in a 2nd comp.

If someone still understands what the hell I'm talking about then please help. Just ask if you need extra info. Thank you.

*EDIT*

When trying to make the network I get this message...

"Some of this computers hardware is still disconnected, before you can continue, you must either plug in or otherwise connect all of your hardware, or select "Ignore Disconnected Hardware"

But when I go into my hardware manager it says that it is connected and working properly.

Might look in Windows help file for ICS which I think will help. (internet connection sharing)
