two separate lines?
i was wondering if i cud do this. ok i have a cable ran right up to my first computer with a modem and a cat5e ran to the back of the machine, and my bedroom has a different cable line ran into it that i used to use for tv. my question is cud i get another modem and just use the line in my bedroom to hook up a computer in my room or do i have to use a router off of the first modem and hook it up that way? thanx a lot

You'd have to contact your cable provider to enable a second broadband line for your house. No additional hardware except the second modem - and double the price! Better to just buy a router. If you can't run wire to the second computer, buy a wireless router and a wireless Adapter (nic) for your computer.
