Winxp and Win2000 on LAN

I have successfully had my home network running for years without too much trouble. Two of the machines (including host) run Win2000 and the other Win98. I have a hub with the dsl running into it and the the three comps connected to hub. Automatically detect settings is checked.

I just brought home new comp that is running Wnxp and i cannot get it connected to my network so that the internet will come up. It is a MSI k8n neo platinum2 motherboard with onboard NIC. I ran Network wizard on the machine and that doesnt work. I noticed on one site that there may be a compatiblilty issue between Winxp and Win2000 for a network and that the registry may need to be adjusted on the Win2000 computer. This is getting way past my level of technical ability.

Have you heard of the compatibilty issue and do I need to change any other LAN settings to make this work?

Thanks for any help.

Nevermind. I bypassed the onboard NIC and installed a NIC. It worked okay with just running Network Wizard on the XP machine.

You probably just did not have the onboard NIC enabled or is is defective cause as far as software settings it is no different and the w2k compatability thing is wrong, at least as far as getting that XP box internet connectivity..

Well I'm connected anyway, sigh. Cannot get proper driver loaded for that onaboard NIC either. I'll keep looking.
Thanks for reply.
