AP as a wireless adapter??
Can a linksys AP be used to access a wireless network without a wired connection?

Depends on the model. The WAP54G can be used as a bridge endpoint, plug it directly into a computer or a switch at the remote location. I believe later models of the WAP11 can also be used this way, earlier models can only bridge with an identical WAP11.
