Securing a Wireless Router
Hi,
I have the router in my signature. It does not have WAP security I'm going to upgrade to a Wireless G router with WAP2. How hard is it to employ the security? I have been reading the threads and it is unclear to me what needs to be done to the PC that is wireless which in my case is the laptop in my signature. I have concluded nothing has to be done to the PC's hard wired to the router, am I correct? What router would be the easiest to configure, as I'm going to go out and buy one? TIA

employing the security is easy. Just specify a matching key in the router and on the pc during your connection setup.

Thanks sgtvampire, I bought a Linksys WRT54GC router as that was the most inexpensive router on Linksys site that said had WPA2 security. I haven't installed it yet as I was waiting for a time if I screwed up it wouldn't matter if I had some down time. I guess I was worrying over nothing, but I had never done it before. I wasn't worried before because I only had a wireless b router and didn't think the signal traveled very far. However I read several places that snoopers had sophistacted equipment that could pick up the signal so I got worried.
