Networking Computers
Hey,
I have a cable internet connection, and a computer with windows xp and windows 98. What is the easiest way to network these computers so that i can share files between the two. There is a printer connected to teh 98 machine how can i get files on my xp to print on it. thanks for any information |

I would recommend that you connect a router to the modem, and connect the computers to the router, that will give you internet on both computers and a home lan.
by having both computers on the same work group, they will see each other over the network, and it will be as simple as sharing a folder or files on each computer. also you can share a printer too, that will give you everything you wanted. |

I have a router and both computers are hooked to it. so how do i make sure that they are in the same workgroup. thats probably a stupid question.lol

In Windows XP.....
Start My Computer click "My Network Places" click "View Workgroup Computers" Have you gone through the "Home Network Setup Wizard" on both computers? |
