Question How Does wireless internet for Laptops Work?

HI,
I have a question about wireless internet for a laptop and how it works.
If I have a internet service provider on a PC at home do I have to pay for another for my laptop? what I do know is you must have a wireless router in your house... Thats about all I know can someone clear it up for me? lol sorry to be so vague but I really know nothing about it.

If you get a wireless router, then you dont need to pay for using your laptop on it, you can just turn it on and access the wireless network. That is what I do.

You simply plug your cable/dsl modem into the router, and then the router manages that single connection between as many computers as you like.

Just be careful, some ISPs will charge for more per computer. Mainly I think satellite ISPs do, I don't think a lot of regular cable and DSL providers will do that...you might want to check on their website to double check.

From what Ive noticed about the ISP's in my area is that if you install your own router or run your own network setup, the ISP will simply not provide techincal service until you unhook that network setup. Its also probably the case behind alot of other cable/dsl ISP's as well.
