How to connect to different IP range?
We got a new ADSL router 2 months ago and things have been going well. I have one problem though. When I try and use programs like DC++, Shareaza and the like my router just won't allow the connection to happen. I'm using a private IP address, as are all the computers on the network (192.168.0.***). Now I know I can just open up a port on the router and forward it to my private IP but I don't have access to the router, so it can't be done. So now I use one of the 5 static IP's that came with the package, and DC++, etc all work now. The problem is, I can't see the other computers on the network, seeing as my IP range has changed.
Is there any way to connect to the other computers on the network without having to constantly change my IP address, etc all the time? Please help. |

You need access to the router in order to open up the ports, because you need to be in the same range as the other computers on the network.

Or you could maybe use a second NIC.
