Hi All.
I don't anderstand what's appening... I've got 1 PC (Windows 2003 server) with 2 network adapters. One have a fixed IP for a web server. The other is a LAN DHCP client. - Fixed IP alone, no problem . I can access to internet & can be accessed from internet (web server & remote control).- DHCP alone, no problem . I can access to shared items over local network, become visible on the LAn & access internet too.- When I activate both , here begin problems... No new access is possible from internet. If a remote conexion was established before it remains active but if I close it, I can't open a new one. All HTTP Web server queries fail in timeout. The most strange in this is that I had the same settings (apps & network) on a Windows XP laptop without any problem .Any idea? Best regards, JPB. |

Do you have both on the same subnet connected to the same switch? That could be cuasing problems right there unless you have a special kind of switch.
After reading it again it sounds like you have the server in place of a router. What if you connect it to your router and forward the respective ports?

Hello DragonNOA1.
1) No there are two completely different configuration (IPs, network subnet masks & gateways). Each of them is connected to a different switch/router. One for Fixed IPs (Web servers) and one for LAN. 2) No this PC (as other Web servers) is strictly a web server (HTTP and/or FTP). I only want them on the LAN for servers maintenance/administration reasons. The most strange thing is that I have two others 'Web server' PCs with exactly the same configuration (network & web apps). They are running fine for several years. the only difference between them and the faulty one is the OS. They are running under XP SP2 Workstation instead of 2003 server. |
