Hi I keep getting a pop up message that says, the system detected a conflict with ip address 192.168.*.* with the system that has (lists the mac address).
Now I have cable modem hooked up to a router and using one port for the access point (not in use now) and the other 3 ports the three computers. The problem computer is the one that my wife is using to connect to her office server. Her office was damaged due to hurricane so she is trying to work from home. It worked fine yesterday. Now today this message is popping up. If she unplugs i dont see any message, but I am able to surf the net, but she cant connect to her office thru vpn. Any suggestions? |

Run "ipconfig /all" on all the computers that are connected to the router and make sure that DHCP is enabled on all of them. It sounds like one of the computers may have been assigned a static IP address that is inside the router's DHCP IP address scope. This means that the router is handing out an IP address to a computer that is already in use.
If one computer, like your wife's, has a statitically assigned IP address, change it back to DHCP-assigned. |

She may have to use a static IP for port forwarding reasons. If this is the case, the static IP should be assigned outside the router's DHCP scope (range).
