Weird connectivity issues...
So, here's the issue:
I recently formatted my laptop, reinstalled everything, everything was working brilliantly about 2 or 3 days later I started getting this issue where when I open Firefox, my homepage won't load, it doesn't stall or anything, it just goes boom, nothing. I'll hit one of my links (or all of them) and it's all the same thing, its just a millisecond of response and nothing happens, the title stays the same, if I span the button, sooner or later, it might respond once and start to load the page, from there all the links, all my buttons and whatnot all do the same thing until I spam one of them and sooner or later, it will respond. I thought it was because I was using Firefox 1.5 RC3, so I installed the 1.0.7 and it didn't work. I used Winsockfix, nothing, I unsinstalled anre reinstalled, nothing. When the links are breaking, I can open IE and I get a "no page to display error" or whatever, if I get a page loading in Firefox I can get a page to load in IE -- it's odd. Any ideas? 1.5ghz Centrino, 512 MB RAM, Windows XP Home SP2.. |

Do you possibly have a firewall that needs to be manually set to allow internet access for Firefox and other applications? That's weird that IE doesn't load them either.

What do you run?
Xp? Does it say limited connectivity. I hate so much! Anyways i've had that problem. Actually after i reformatted as well. I had to spend like 3 hours on the phone with Compaq (trying to understand Indian) And finally they gave me the links to a driver site where it actually worked. But i had to get them from another computer, then put them on a floppy. It was an ongoing problem i didn't deal with till later. The funny thing is that it happened both on the wireless and the ethernet. - Jack -------------------------------------------------------------------------- AMD X2 4600|| 1GB RAM||300GB SATA MAXTOR HDD||100GB SATA MAXTOR HDD|| NVIDIA 6800GT|| DVD/RW DL|| DVD/RW|| WINDOWS XP PRO|| |

The computer was connecting to the internt through Ethernet cable straight to a hug, which was connected to a router. I'm back at school now and it connects to my wireless just fine...
