No matter what I do to allow the Google Earth program through my D-Link DI-624 I cannot get connected to the Google Earth server. I have even set my computer in the DMZ on the router and it still will not connect.
It used to work months ago when I first installed it but cannot get to the server now. I have uninstalled, redonwloaded reinstalled the software and I am getting nowhere. Does anyone have any ideas here? |

You don't have that site blocked in your browser settings, do you?

Not that I can find. I am using Firefox and have cleared all cookies, sites, etc.
The really odd thin is that I installed Google Earth on my wireless laptop and I can connect just fine. |

I fixed it but do not know why
My Panda AV was acting add and not able to contact the update server on my deskotp, but the laptop on a wireless hookup was fine. The laptop also could connect to Google Earth
I uninstalled the AV from the desktop and NOW can get connected to Google Earth. The firewall portion of the AV was not even installed so I am nor sure why it was not letting Google Earth connect to the server. I could browse, get email and whatever EXCEPT google Earth and the AV update server. Any ideas as to why that would happen? |

I've seen similar issues with Panda before. I have no idea why but I do know to be suspicious when I see Panda installed. Keep it uninstalled and install AVG.

When I reinstalled Panda, Google Earth stopped cconnecting to the server and Panda was still unable to connect to the update server.
Oddly enough I discovered that under the Security Settings in IE, the logon had somehow gotten set to anonymous. I changed it to use current username and password and everything started working. Panda could again contact the update server and Google Earth is now connecting to the server. I have NO idea how that setting got changed but it appears as if that resolved the issue. I have used Panda for about 5 years and would never use anything else. It has protected my PC when other people had their AV circumnavigated by a new virus. I would never consider changing to anything else. Thanks for all replies. |
