Ontrack EZ Recovery.
Isn't shareware, but it's good. RJ

PC Inspector is free. Give it a try. Ontrack Easy Recovery is the *best* but NOT cheap.

Sometimes it helps to make it a slave drive.

I've had luck making hard drives no longer seen as master drives in the BIOS into slave drives for recovery with Windows or Linux LiveCD. ChiJoan |

I've had great results from knoppix-std disk, if your familiar with the linux environment using midnight commander file manager.
