ics in win98 amd win2k
ive got a little network, two pcs running together, and we want to run ics over the network. The only problem is that my pc, the internet connected one, runs on win98se and the other, as the client is running win2k pro.
Ive installed ics on the host, but when i come to run the client config disc on the client, it brings up an error : "this needs win95 or win98". how can i resolve this issue? any help given would be greatfully accepted. ian. |

Don't use the configuration disk. Just set the 2k machine to obtain an IP automatically. Then in IE go to tools Internet options connections tab. Change to never dial a connection. Then go to Lan Settings from there, uncheck automatically detect. That should do it.
Here is a step by step I found after the above was posted. http://www.practicallynetworked.com/...n2k_client.htm Last edited by K A Hall; 07-03-2001 at 08:45 PM. |
