How to expand my network
I currently have cable internet which is shared using a Linksys BEFSR41 EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch. If I want to expand the network to cope with the increasing number of computers and games consoles needing to access the internet do I just need to buy a switch and connect it to the router and connect some computers to the router and some to the switch?

you would connect a switch to one of the open switched ports on the router and then connect devices to any open switch port (router or switch)...

in the unmanaged switching lines, a switch is, generally, a switch...
I would prefer you buy a linksys switch for purely selfish reasons....but if you can't, you can't |
