Problem: Registry ActiveX Errors.
Solution: Told him to download new version of WMP
Other solution: Rebuilding the WMP Registry

Lite, we would appreciate assistance such as that be done in the thread, not by PM. Doing it by PM helps no one else that may be having the same problems. Thank you. I get constant requests for assistance by PM, and I politely ask the members to post in the forum.

Same Issue, ++

LiTe & jgt8229: I have the same issue, can you outline exactly how'd you troubleshoot the -

Problem: Registry ActiveX Errors.
Solution: Told him to download new version of WMP
Other solution: Rebuilding the WMP Registry
My Setup: WinXP Pro SP1, XP2200+, 512RAM, DirectX9.0c, WMP10, DivX, PowerDVD, Firefox v1.5, IE6 (flash, java plugins installed on both)

My Problem: Similar to jgt8229's first post. I had to reset everything - or rather reinstall (clean) everything on my pc. After that I went online & was able to view streaming video from websites w/out a problem but all of a sudden WMP10 or browser video hangs (it's just a black screen, says "Ready" w/no content playing). Downloaded files work fine.

Any ideas? Related threads (I may have missed)? I tried searching but after 11 pages & a few hours of reading, this was the best, most relevant thread. Help ...

More Info - FYI

Note: Cannot access/adjust settings for "Network" Tab in WMP10. I click it and it won't display. All other tabs are fine. Also, cannot access "Guide" & Internet Radio at all whereas before it would connect w/out issue.

Checked firewall settings - not an issue. Performed full adware/spyware/virus check - none detected. Removed & reinstalled WMP10, reboot, no change.

What else could it be?

Thanks in advance.
