PC-Cillin Internet Security 2006 Slowing Connection?

I just finished installing Trend Micro's PC-Cillin Internet Security Suite 2006 on my computer, my fathers and his laptop. After I registered everything, updated and went through all of the settings I noticed that my internet connection on the computers using a wireless connection was much slower. I also noticed within playing a game online that my connection was constantly being interrupted on my computer which is directly connected into my router for internet. Any ideas what could be slowing me down?

Do you have the Trend personal firewall enabled? You could try disabling it or checking to see what profile is being used and bring it down to something that is not as aggressive.
I've using the same suite and havent noticed an issue.

I am on the 'Direct Connection' and my security level is at Medium. This is what I used before with the 2005 suite. Should I bring it down to Low?

Also, now I am having trouble with sharing files between the computers again.

The first thing I would suggest is to turn off your firewall and see if it is the personal firewall slowing your net connection down.
Secondly, if you cant share files its probably because you have the netbios ports blocked out. The easiest way to get your sharing back is to switch to an Office Network profile. Or you could always enable the Netbios in and out from the exception list on the Direct Connection.
Direct Connection assumes that you are connected directly to an ADSL modem... and it's pretty aggressive.

Statica,

Thanks for the information. I actually had to switch all 3 computers over to 'Office Network' before I could share files and see my Workgroup computers. My internet connection seems to be fine with 'Direct Connection' or 'Office Network.' My ISP may have had a lot of traffic on at the time.

Any other suggestions with 2006 that I should be aware of?

You dont need to manually go and change the PCC settings of all the computers on your network. A really good way to deal with it is to use the Private Network Protection setting. It will allow you to control all the PCC's on your Private network .. and do some pretty neat stuff like remotely triggering updates or scans on them (see attachment) or even configuring them remotely. It doesnt happen blind either, you are notified of the changes that happen remotely.

Administration of the antivirus is something that I find PCC does extremely well over a network.

Yes, I did notice that, but I have not attempted to fool with it as of yet. Seems quite interested and looks like quite a feature that Trend Micro has added on to this years suite.

It was there in in PCC 2005 as well. Most good antivirus suites have it .. NOD32 has an add-on download for network administration that works quite well

WOW, shows how much I really know! I guess I didnt look at my software as close as I thought! Never even noticed it as much as I had played around with my 'Main Console.'
